Happy Sweet 16 birthday Card - Stampin Up! Tutorial #4

My Niece turned 16 and I just had to make a beautiful Sweet sixteen card just for her! I remember my sweet sixteen......Do you? Let's get started ....

Glimmer paper, Silver - item # 124005

So to start things off you want to cut a 5 1/2 x 8 piece of Elegant Eggplant, this will be your card base.

 Next you want to use the 2nd largest label framelit to cut only half of the front of the paper so you get a "Z" fold. You want to fold the front of the card back as shown below but do not create a hard crease.

 Now you want to place it on the cutting board of the big shot, with both tabs down. I like to use small pieces of sticky notes to hold the framelit in place. Center the framelit where you created the crease of the front card.

 Place the top cutting board on top of the framelit but only up to the crease line. The effect we are trying to get is to only cut half of the framelit so one side moves while the other is stationary and still part of the card. Once you start to roll it through make sure the top cutting board is only to that creased line.

 As you can see it only cut half!

 Now you can lay the card down with the flap folded back and the cut piece will lay out straight. It looks like we cut out the full label framelit but we didn't, it is giving us the look we are going for. Now you can firmly crease the card. If you have questions, please ask!!!!

Next we need to cut out the same size Label framelit out of Silver glimmer paper using the big shot.

Next you want to use a dauber inked with Elegant Eggplant and edge the silver glimmer paper.

Now we want to use the third smallest label framelit and cut out a piece of Whisper White card stock using the big shot with both tabs down as we did earlier. Ink the edges with Elegant Eggplant as we did with the Silver glimmer paper.

Now we want to use the Memorable moments Stamp set, I used them with a clear block. I stamped in Elegant Eggplant (do you see a theme here:).

I wanted to add a little something to this label before placing it on the card so I used the paper piercing tool to put a mini brad on each side.

Now we can put it all together!!! I wanted to give the small label some dimension, so I adhered it to the silver glimmer paper with Stampin Dimensionals.

I adhered the glimmer paper to the Elegant Eggplant using Sticky Strip. Than I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock for the inside of the card so you can write something and be read! What do you think of this card? I am just pleased with it.
