Simple Stampin' Up! Sunday cards....

So I have seen lots of cards on pintrest that show the use of the Hardwood stamp. So I decided to play around with it too and this is what I came up with.

 I sponged the sky with pool party ink pad and I used the scallop punch to create the clouds. I used the backyard basics stamp set and framelits (sadly they are retired). I stamped the bird on watercolor paper and used aqua painters to color it in. I then used Crystal Effects (retired) to coat the bird so it is shiny. I stamped the Hardwood clear stamp on using Brown Sugar ink pad onto Crumb cake cardstock. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch to create the top of the fence. I used Serene Silhouettes (retired) in the background. I made several versions of this card.

 Not sure if you can see the shine coming off the bird, but it makes a nice effect.

Saturday card class

Check out these beautiful cards and project we will be making tomorrow at my monthly card class. We will be decorating a craft box and topping it off with a blossom flower.  I saw this card on pintrest and put my own spin on it and love the way it turned out. I used Lost Lagoon and Black Berrybliss. The embossing folders are retired but a few of my favorites. Sad to see them go.

Stampin' Up! Corner Garden

Happy Sunday! I don't know about where you live but her in Missoula, Montana it is hot!!! Good day to stay inside and make some cards in the cool basement. I have been playing with the new stamp set Corner Garden. What do you think....

 I used whisper white card stock and embossed whisper white embossing powder on one and basic black on the other, then I used markers to color in each flower. I used the same color for both pieces on the same flowers. Wow, what a different white is vs. black.

 I wanted to see how it would look on Basic black card stock using whisper white embossing powder & pewter embossing powder, this is what I got..

I don't know about you but I just love the look, so I decided to emboss with whisper white embossing powder and use chalks (retired) to color it in. I love it.

Stampin' Up! Sunday Technique

Sunday Technique, how to use a Brayer...

Happy Sunday everyone!!! I don't know about you but I love the Brayer and strive to get better every time I use it. So today I thought I would show you one way to use a Brayer.

Steps to using a Brayer....

1. I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5 1/2"x7" , score at 3 1/2".

2. I put two large sticky post it notes on either side to get  a clean line. As you can see I have been playing around with it today.

3. You want to start off with your lightest color first. I am going with a sunset look so I choose to use Daffidol Delight as my first color. You ink up the the Brayer by rolling in several times in the Daffidol delight, to get good coverage on the Brayer roll it and lift up and off before rolling in the ink again. As you can see one side will be darker than the other as you roll it down the paper.

4. Next I went with the next darker color, Tangelo Twist. Repeat the same process as before.

5.  The last color I am going to use is Garden Green. I start from the bottom this time.

6. I turned the card to stamp my image at this point, for me it's easier to use the Brayer going horizontal.

7. Now you can stamp your image while it is still being masked to create your effect. My stamp does not go off the masked colored area but I wanted to show you the effect that would be created.

8. Now you can remove the masking sticky notes and stamp your sentiment.

This is so simple and complete a great look. These are the stamp sets that I used. Serene Silhouettes & Million & One.

I love to play around and see what different looks I can come up with, so I wanted to show you a card I came up with. I received the inspiration by looking at cards on Pintrest.

Night time theme on the water, I just can't get enough of it. You will see more and more of these because I want to perfect the look. The second card I embossed the ship using Pewter powder.
