FM187 It's all about the weather!
Happy Sunday to everyone! I hope your staying warm. Here in Montana it has been threatening to snow, I say bring it on! I love the snow. I don't like to drive in it, but I love the beauty it brings. I haven't participated in a challenge in a while and I thought it was time I got busy and participated. There are so many options out there. This challenge comes to you today from The Friday Mashup, they are so creative. Here is the challenge...
This week's Mashup Challenge is:
- Create a project using "a Metal Embellishment (Staple, Brad, Grommet etc.)".
- Create a project using "Weather as your Inspiration" think Storms, Winter, Clouds, Rain, Sun, Warm Sandy Beaches.
- or Mash it Up! and create a "Weather inspired project with a Metal Embellishment".
1. I start off by cutting strips of DSP 1/4" thick, varieties of length are good because it takes all sizes.
2. I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5 1/4"x4" and adhered that to Stampin' Up! double sided sticky sheets. Then I start by putting down three strips of DSP as shown below.
3. Starting in one section rotating DSP work in one direction and then cut off the excess.
4. You are going to continue to fill in the remaining 3 sections. Once you have finished you have created the Herring-bone Technique and you have used up some scraps you have around the craft room.
5. I made one in the green, red & white colors and one in Blue, gray and white. Once you have these created you can cut out the design of your choice, I choose Bigz Snow Flurry (retired), you could also use festive flurry framelits all used with the Big Shot.
6. At this point you have some very beautiful snow flakes and a fancy background with snowflake silhouettes. I can used both, that way you have no loss in paper, everything is used.
7. You have snowflakes to use on a card too!
8. I used Night of Navy as the background, embellished with some silver ribbon and a Metal snowflake with some bling.
That is how I Friday Mashup!
